Beautiful Star: An Appalachian Nativity

Beautiful Star:
An Appalachian Nativity

A Seasonal Celebration
by Preston Lane
original music by Laurelyn Dossett

November 27 – December 23, 2009

Come home for the holidays.
The best tales are the ones worth repeating. Returning for the fourth and final season of celebration, Reverend Ledbetter and the Open Heart Community Fellowship gather again for their rendition of the Christmas story, with down home laughter, toe-tapping music and a tug at the heartstrings. Come experience the joy and wonder that have made Beautiful Star the biggest hit in Triad Stage’s history.

“Whether you’re rolling with laughter at Lane’s offbeat shepherd’s story...or thrilling to Mary’s...musical musings about her mystical pregnancy, this show leaves you with the same transcendent feeling that must have overcome audiences of the medieval mystery plays.”

Andrew Eversol Andrew Eversol (Musician) Andrew “Never” Eversole was born in Harlan, KY and raised there in the Appalachians, but it wasn’t until his family relocated to NC that he fell in love with the banjo. Since then he has played music professionally all across the globe, including recent tours of China and New York City. His debut album Creature has garnered rave reviews and national radio play. His most recent projects include the experimental roots sound of The Family Eversole, and the dynamic duet of The Bad Raccoons. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys exploratory trips through inner and outer space.
Griffith Martin Griffith Martin (Musician) is a proud Carolina native. He grew up in Winston-Salem and then moved to Wilmington where he attended UNCW and received a degree in Mathematics. After college he made his way to the mountains and currently resides in Asheville. Griff is recognized as one of the hottest young bluegrass guitar players in the region, singing lead and even that high lonesome tenor. His fluid and inventive style has been sharply honed from his beginnings as a classical pianist to his current accomplishments as a Bluegrass flat picker. His musical talent has taken him nationwide as well as overseas in a tour to Spain. In addition to his accomplished guitar playing, he may be heard playing Bluegrass Banjo, Mandolin and even Electric Guitar.
Faye Petree Faye Petree (Musician) Raised on the family farm in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Faye Petree (Fidaelia Flame) was steeped in campfire jams of traditional Bluegrass as well as a small dose of classical training from the North Carolina School of the Arts. All of which has made for a unique mash. Faye has made appearances at The Barn Dinner Theatre and with bands around the Southeast such as Kill-Basa Bill’s Road Show, Sourwood Sweet, The Family Eversole, Junior League Band, and most recently, The Bad Raccoons. In her down time, she enjoys yodeling and aeronautical pyrotechnics.
