Allan Edwards* (Praed) First appearance at Triad Stage. Lucius Houghton* (Reverend Samuel Gardner) recently starred in The Hypochondriac, a world premiere of an adaptation of Moliere's The Imaginary Invalid, for the Hope Summer Repertory Theatre. Houghton is a founding member of the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival, and was Truman Capote in TRU and Teddy in Faith Healer for NCSF's Twin City Season. Regional: The Cleveland Playhouse, The Barter Theatre, Riverside Theatre, Charlotte Rep and Monomoy Theatre. He resides in Greenville, SC, with his wife, Barbara.

Rebecca Nerz (Vivie Warren) appeared in Triad Stage's production of Tobacco Road, and in Vampire Lesbians of Sodom and Carolina Jack's Last Adventure for the THTR 232 Summer Theatre Festival. She is in her junior year as a BFA candidate in the UNCG Acting program, where she was last seen in The Rimers of Eldritch. Other UNCG credits include Private Lives, A View from the Bridge, Flannel Shorts and Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse.

Giulia Pagano* (Mrs.Warren) Broadway: Medea, A Moon for the Misbegotten. Off-Broadway: The Passion of Dracula (Cherry Lane Theatre); The Winslow Boy, Miss Julie and Heartbreak House (Roundabout Theatre). Preston Lane

Preston Lane (Artistic Director, Co-Founder, Director) is in his 7th season at Triad Stage, having directed over 26 productions including: the Grand Opening production Suddenly Last Summer, the award-winning Hedda Gabler and A Streetcar Named Desire, last season's acclaimed Tobacco Road and the return of Brother Wolf for An Appalachian Summer Festival, and this season's record-breaking reprise of Beautiful Star. He was formerly Artistic Associate at the Dallas Theater Center where his productions included the US premiere of Inexpressible Island (Dallas Observer Best of Dallas Awards: Best Director, Best Production) and The Night of the Iguana (Dallas Morning News: 2002 Top Ten Theatre List). Other productions include: A Tuff Shuffle (National Black Theatre Festival), Overruled (Off Broadway), Love! Valour! Compassion! (Stage One), and the world premieres of If Only and Get It While You Can (Summer Cabaret). As a playwright, he is recipient of a grant from the Fox Foundation to develop Wondrous Love. Other adaptations and original works include Hedda Gabler, Dracula, Mirandolina, Julie's Dance, Brother Wolf, Beautiful Star, and the upcoming Bloody Blackbeard (Triad Stage), A Christmas Carol (Dallas Theater Center, Sonoma County Rep, Kids Who Care), Three Weeks After Marriage and Helen! (Summer Cabaret). He has taught at UNC Greensboro, N.C. A&T University, NC School of the Arts, Southern Methodist University, and the Professional Actors Workshop at the Dallas Theater Center. He is an alumnus of the Drama League of New York's Director's Project. A native of Boone, NC, Preston received his BFA from the North Carolina School of the Arts and his MFA from the Yale School of Drama.



Howard C. Jones (Scenic Designer) Triad Stage: Tobacco Road, Hedda Gabler (recipient of a World Stage Design 2005 honor), August Snow, A Moon for the Misbegotten, The Matchmaker and A Streetcar Named Desire. Regional: Starlight Theatre, Goodspeed Opera, Missouri Repertory Theatre, North Shore Music Theatre, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, American Heartland Theatre and NC Shakespeare Festival. NC School of the Arts faculty member since 1996. Prior to that, founder and owner of Cobalt Studios, an apprentice painting studio in upstate New York, working for Broadway, Off Broadway and regional theatres across the country.



Kelsey Hunt (Costume Designer) is resident designer and costume shop manager at Triad Stage. Past productions include Sleuth, The Little Foxes, Tobacco Road, Noises Off, Beautiful Star (2006 and 2007), The Old Settler, The Diary of Anne Frank, The Matchmaker, Brother Wolf, On Golden Pond, A Streetcar Named Desire (honorable mention, best production design, Independent Weekly), Das Barbecü, A Moon for the Misbegotten and Bus Stop. Kelsey has worked with UNCG Theater, New York's Glimmerglass Opera House, Firebrand Theory Theater Company, The Lortel Theater, and Lisa Zinni (associate designer for Broadway's Rent.)



Norman Coates (Lighting Designer) Triad Stage: The Caretaker, Master Herald...and the boys, A Moon for the Misbegotten. Broadway: The News and Prince of Central Park. Off Broadway: Here Are Ladies, Diversions and Delights, Blood Knot and Limbo Tales (Villager Award). Tours: The Who's Tommy, Camelot with Richard Harris and Encounter 500. Regional: Great Lakes Theatre Festival, American Stage Festival, NC Shakespeare Festival, PlayMakers Repertory, Burt Reynolds' Jupiter Theatre, The Hirshfeld Theatre, North Carolina Theatre, Greensboro Opera, Opera Carolina, Piedmont Opera. He is the Director of Lighting at the NC School of the Arts and a member of United Scenic Artists.



Ryan J. Gastelum (Sound Designer) Triad Stage: Beautiful Star, Sleuth, The Diary of Anne Frank (Assistant Sound Designer). Regional/Local: The Tempest, As You Like It, King Lear, Twelfth Night, The Winter's Tale (Shakespeare Santa Cruz); Cats (The Little Theater of Winston Salem); West Side Story (NC School of the Arts, Assistant Sound Designer). Education: BA, UC Santa Cruz. Other: Sound Intern, The Guthrie Theater.



Elizabeth Bennett (Dramaturg) is a dramaturg and journalist who has collaborated with Preston Lane for 13 years. They first tackled the issue of censorship through Nick Dear's The Art of Success at the Yale School of Drama. Regional: Artistic staff at Arena Stage, Dallas Theater Center, La Jolla Playhouse, Manhattan Theatre Club, and Second Stage Theater. She is proud to have commissioned the Tony-winning musical Spring Awakening and dramaturged pre-Broadway musicals Thoroughly Modern Millie and Jane Eyre. Education: MFA in Dramaturgy from Yale. She is Director of the Program Services Unit in the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs.



Christine Morris (Resident Voice/Dialect Coach) is pleased to be working at Triad Stage again, having recently coached Sleuth. She is on the theatre faculty at UNCG, where she teaches voice/speech and acting and directed Sweeney Todd last fall. She has voice coached many theatrical productions, video and audio projects, and has worked with private clients in business, entertainment, and television journalism. Regional acting credits include: New York Shakespeare Festival, The Public Theatre, Playmakers Repertory, Archipelago Theatre, and Manbites Dog. Member of Actors Equity Association, Screen Actors' Guild, and the Voice and Speech Trainers Association (VASTA), also serving on the VASTA board of directors.



Cindi Rush (Casting Director) New York: Jacques Brel, Six Dance Lessons In Six Weeks, The Thing About Men, Showtune, I Sing, Urinetown, Say Goodnight Gracie. Regional: Triad Stage; Northern Stage Company; Cape Cod Theatre Project; NOHO Arts Center, Actors Theatre of Louisville. Catherine Hagner* (Stage Manager) Triad Stage: 34 productions from The Rainmaker through Beautiful Star 2007. She joined the company after serving as Production Stage Manager for American Stage in St. Petersburg, Florida, for four seasons. Ms. Hagner received a BA in Theatre and English from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, and completed an apprenticeship in Directing/Dramaturgy at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis.
